ESAComp Half Day Workshop in California
Date: May 23 - Time: 9 am - 1 pm PDT - Venue: Altair Engineering, Irvine Office, California. Presented by André Mönicke, this half-day course introduces ESAComp to engineers from all sectors of industry working with layered composite materials. Starting from the basics of materials and laminates, attendees will learn to work within the ESAComp environment to perform, step-by-step, the design of some composite structural elements, along with features of the ESAComp-HyperWorks interface. Additive manufacturing aids development of carbon fibre triathlon bicycle
In this article we meet Tuomas and Kimi, two amateur bike enthusiasts who pooled their knowledge of materials science and manufacturing in order to design and build themselves a triathlon carbon fibre bicycle for the amateur competitor.
The friends and colleagues had a simple aim: to build an affordable custom composite bike to compete in triathlon events. Read more...
Componeering presentation on composite panel optimization at SAMPE Long Beach
SAMPE Long Beach Conference and Exhibition, California, May 23-26, 2016. André Mönicke presents the results of a study on optimizing part of an aircraft door surround model, including related load-response calculations, failure and buckling reserve factor analyses. The design process is built around optimization features offered by Altair's HyperStudy - a solver-neutral design optimization and stochastic study software - along with ESAComp software for design and analysis of composites. Different parameterization concepts are evaluated. Both numerical results and the performance of the optimized structures are reported and compared with an aluminum baseline design.
Don't miss "Design-Optimization of a Curved Layered Composite Panel Using Efficient Laminate Parameterization" on Thursday, May 26 at 3:30 PM in session: Optimization and Simulation. For further information, visit SAMPE Long Beach website.
JEC World 2016: Thank you for your visit
Thanks too for waiting to see us at busy times. It was good to meet you, to show you ESAComp and discuss opportunities with you. We look forward to future collaboration.
Pressure vessels: The composite solution from ComposicaD and ESAComp
With composite pressure vessels foreseen as a significant industrial growth sector, Mike Skinner, from Seifert and Skinner & Associates, talks us through their approach and how the composite solution offered by ComposicaD and ESAComp provides efficient design and analysis to meet the emerging markets.
