UPM announces the Biofore Concept Car
UPM has announced the Biofore Concept Car project. The concept car is designed and manufactured in partnership with Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology, and several other partner companies, including Componeering. The principles of sustainability and recyclability are followed in the design. The concept car utilizes UPM's innovative biomaterials as main raw material for many parts and components. The Componeering team has conducted the design optimization of the composite car body. The concept car will be manufactured to be a street-legal vehicle and will be finalized during spring 2014. Componeering presentation on composite car body optimization at NWC 2013
A Componeering presentation on composite car body optimization will be featured at the NAFEMS World Congress 2013 in Salzburg, Austria, June 10-12. The presentation describes the procedure how the CFRP body of a future city car was optimized to minimize weight using ESAComp in combination with modeFRONTIER for optimization and ANSYS for the FE analysis. See the abstract for more details.
"Win an ESAComp e-Learning Course" - Winners drawn for JEC Europe 2013 lotto
Componeering announce the five winners who will each receive our training course "Introduction to the design of composite structures with ESAComp software" via the improve.it portal for online engineering education. Read more...
The properties of fiber-reinforced composite structures can be tailored with layer orientations and stacking sequence. For example, you can design your laminate so that under a tensile load it twists, but at the same time it does not bend nor shear. Typically, distortions are unwanted but sometimes they may be beneficial when properly understood and utilized. Read more...
ESAComp enhances the ANSYS composites simulation ecosystem
ANSYS software suite with its composites module ANSYS Composite PrepPost (ACP) provides a comprehensive set of tools for the simulation of composite structures. These features can be further enhanced with the database, laminate design and detailed analysis features of ESAComp. ACP users benefit from the "ESAComp 4 ACP" discount license price. Read more...
